A brief history of Associated Security

In Manchester in 1945, Associated Security Solutions first began trading as J. S. Sproston.

John Stanley Sproston, the founder of the business, became a well trusted local locksmith within the community and his customer base began to expand from trading primarily to the general public, to working with Government bodies and within the Banking sector. Over the next 7 years, the business continued to thrive – mostly due to customer recommendations and commendations on the products and services John was providing, so in 1952 John’s nephew, Roy Turner, joined the company and began to assist with running the business.

From this point, the pair moved to larger premises and began the supply and installation of safes. Roy’s two sons, who are still the current directors of the business, joined their father at the company, meaning John could then retire.

Since its birth, Associated Security has been a family-run business, which it remains to this day. Being a family-run business has cemented the true values of the company even further; providing outstanding customer service, the best possible security products and helping individuals and businesses to achieve peace of mind through securing their valued goods.

Expansion

We’ve been fortunate enough to continue to grow over the last 75 years; making multiple acquisitions in order to expand our logistical capabilities and provide complete nationwide coverage for our customers. These acquisitions, which include the purchase of our own UK Manufacturing facility, continue to allow us to meet the ever-changing demands and requirements for the security of both residential and commercial properties.

Today, Associated Security Solutions is made up of around 150 staff members, in at least 6 locations throughout the UK, in addition to our remote staff and engineers, all working to provide our customers with the security solution that best suits what they need. With continued growth and changes always on the horizon, we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far and very grateful to the support we receive from our customers who ultimately, are the reason for all of our success.
